After some trial and error over the course of a year I eventually partnered with an industrial foundry that was willing & able to embrace this artistic project. The sides of the FINN series are cast in silicone bronze using the ancient process of casting in sand. My intent was to show the unrefined nature of this method which was achieved fantastically in the ripples and bubbles formed in the bronze, something I call “The honesty of industry”. All the finishing and fitting on the raw casting is done by hand. The table section can be ordered in various woods and the bench in a choice of fabrics and leather and the length customized to the clients requirements.
